My reason for running
In Australia, Cardiovascular Disease affects more than 4 million people, causes 1 in 4 deaths, costs $5 billion each year, kills 48 people every day or one person every 30 minutes. Over the last 10 years, deaths have been declining thanks to research into risk factors, medications and interventions. Everybody’s risk profile is a combination of controllable and uncontrollable factors - I’ve got all the uncontrollable ones. Next month I’ll be attempting the Gold Coast Marathon to raise funds for more research, medications and interventions on Australia’s biggest killer.I’ve taken on a challenge to Do it for Heart!
