Sam Muscat – Plumber, Heart Survivor & Ultra Cyclist
Nine years ago, I was just a regular Melbourne plumber who liked a beer with mates. Then myocarditis nearly killed me. Woke up in The Alfred’s ICU after four days on life support – doctors had called my family to say goodbye.
Now I’m training for my second 4,000km ultra-race across Europe (because apparently I didn’t learn my lesson the first time).
Why I’m fundraising:
- Heart disease doesn’t care if you’re a tradie, CEO or couch potato
- The heart foundation's research saved my life – now I want to help save others
- Every $50 = 1 hour of life-changing heart research
I’m proof that an ordinary bloke can do extraordinary things with a second chance. Help me pay it forward.
