The Union is cycling for Heart!

In February 2023 one of the Unions most mediocre members Matt received the news that he had a big heart.  Normally one would think this is a good thing however in this case his aorta had enlarged like a swollen radiator hose and his aortic valve was leaking.  He was told to stop bike racing immediately as these aortas have a nasty habit of fatally bursting.   (Amazingly Matt did the 2022 Cape 2 Cape in this condition just 4 months earlier). Matt has is aorta replaced and his valve repaired on setember 11 2023 and now 12 months later he’s back to conquer Cape to Cape once again with the help of his mediocre mob!  Matts one of the lucky ones.  There’s every chance he could have dropped dead, fit as a fiddle with the last thing he’d seen being one of the Dudley boys Lycra clad arses!  A diligent GP at a routine check up saved him from that ignominious date!  So to celebrate we’ve decided to team up with Heart Foundation on the next C2C to raise money for heart disease research and prevention.
